Earthquake hits Pakistan, India, Middle East 16 April 2013
KARACHI/NEW DELHI/TEHRAN: A powerful earthquake struck Pakistan, India, Iran and Middle East countries on Tuesday, sending people running into the streets out of fear.
No report of damages in Pakistan has so far been received.
The quake was measured 7.8 magnitude on the Richter scale.
In Pakistan, the quake struck at about 3:44 pm as strong tremors rocked Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, tribal agencies.
The tremors lasted for over 20 seconds.
The tremor was also felt in India’s Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and other parts.
The U.S. Geological survey said tremors were felt in Iran and across the Gulf region.
